I was shocked (pleasantly) to be alerted on my "Hopper" phone app today that flights to Venice can still be bought right now for only $455. That price is so good that I thought it would be a good time to revisit our trip to Venice Carnival and encourage readers to take advantage of the low fares. Those tickets used to cost more than 1,250! There seem to be plenty of seats left for those who can act quickly. I just found a flight from JFK to Venice on Tuesday, Feb. 18 returning to Newark on Thursday Feb. 27 for $455 round trip! The flight is on TAP, the Portuguese airline with a connection through Lisbon.
Carnival this year kicks off on Feb. 8 and the festivities continue through the 25th so there are many dates that could work. Check out previous posts on this blog for details on what to do once you get to Venice. There really is something for everyone - from bar hoppers who want to experience out-of-the-way places that have been in business since the 1400s to art lovers, shoppers, and anyone who likes to dress up and be someone else!
